Xander 'Knoswet' Zee is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist and designer based in Sydney.

Knoswet comes from a graffiti and street art background. Falling easily into the lures of art at a young age, the classroom never seemed to be the best environment for his creativity. While continuing his own artistic experiments, He delved into the world of design and community art through formal study at UNSW Art and Design. During this process; community art and development, event management and art direction became the focus of his creative endeavours.
 

Constantly exploring his own visions, unique expression and potentials ,Knoswet has exhibited works and collaborated with clients and artists in 8 different countries.

 

The motivations behind my art are constantly changing with my understanding of life and creativity. I have always been mesmerised by the world and its many mysteries and while painting stays as the staple in my creative diet, this insatiable fascination has lead me on a continual adventure with art - exploring the avenues of design, photography, sculpture, media, music, performance, life and love.

 

Through formal study, as well as personal and social experimentation I have explored many mediums, techniques, schools of thought and practice. My works are inspired by adventure, love, dreams, the unknown, beauty, tragedy, nature, the absurd, the abstract, the mundane and the insane.
